William Jewell women's tennis head coach
Paul Worstell is proud to announce the signing of Lauren Huddlestun (Overland Park, Kan./ St. Thomas Aquinas) to a National Letter of Intent during the NCAA Early Signing Period.
Huddlestun is the No. 6 player in Kansas, No. 17 in the Midwest, No. 442 in the country among seniors and is a three-star recruit according to TennisRecruiting.net.
“We're very excited to have Lauren join our program,” Worstell said. “She is a tremendous player and student and will bring the kind of winning attitude to our program that will help us compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Lauren overcame a lot of adversity over the last couple of years and for her to have the season she had as a senior shows what kind of athlete and what kind of person she really is.”
Huddlestun won the Kansas 5A state championship in singles and has earned three Eastern Kansas League titles, three Regional titles, and one State title as a team playing for St. Thomas Aquinas. She was voted Newcomer of the year her freshman year, and was named MVP three years in a row during her sophomore, junior and senior years respectively. Huddlestun is also ranked in the top 30 in Missouri Valley G18s.
