The William Jewell College baseball team split its doubleheader against University of Indianapolis on Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis, Ind.

The Hounds took the first game, 8-2 and Jewell was victorious 6-0 in game two.  The win in game two snapped an 8 game losing skid for Jewell.  

In game one, UINDY scored four in the first and two in the second to take a 6-0 lead.  Jewell scored one in the top of the third, one in the top of the eighth, and one in the top of the ninth.  

Bryan Rezin finished the contest two for two two walks and a run scored.   JP Bartmess finished one for four with a walk and two runs scored for Jewell.  

Matt Milz (0-1) suffered the loss hurling six and 2/3 innings giving up 12 hits and 8 runs (4 earned) while striking out 4 and walking two.

In game two, the Cardinals jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the third inning and then put the game out of reach with three runs in the top of the fifth.  

Cody Downing (1-1) tossed a complete game three hit shutout while striking out seven and walking three.

David Smith led the Cardinals going one for four with two RBI's and Bryan Rezin was two for three with a run scored.  

The Cardinals, 8-11 overall and 1-6 in GLVC play, will take on Maryville University on Saturday, March 31 at 12:00 p.m. in St. Louis, Mo.
