Top 10 Stories: #4 Peters, Lehenbauer Qualify for Fall Nationals

The William Jewell College women's doubles team of sophomore Paula Peters (Caunton, Nottinghamshire, England) and first-year player Katy Lehenbauer (Kansas City, Mo.)  won the Small College Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Regional Championships in September and qualified for the  National Competition Mobile, Ala.

Earning a trip to the Nationals makes them the #4 story in our Top 10 Athletic Stories of 2011-2012.

The duo earned the trip to Alabama after winning the doubles title at the USTA/ITA Regional Championships on September 17 in Kearney, Neb.

“Paula and Katy played with such poise and really came together as a team in this tournament,” said head coach Paul Worstell.  “The finals match was a very close match and it was great to see them come through with the win.

This marked Jewell's seventh trip in the last eight years to the National Small College Championships and their first as a member of the NCAA Division II.
